I wanted to do something more complex and didn't have anything to do with liquid. I actually went on to you tube and found a video of a guy who makes mini catapults, and shows step by step how to make them. Then i wanted it to be some what robotic so i built it on to an R/C car. Now once it was built i needed to find a way to make the lever and release mechanism work by using a motor. I had a little R/C motor which basically stop working after three time of pulling twine backward.
I think the coolest thing about the project is actually the reaction of people's faces when it approaches them and they don't no what it is. They see the catapult and automatically think its going to throw something at them, and thats why i put it on an R/C to drive around. But over all it was better to get something that worked rather than something were i cant control what's going on.

2 Failed attempts to conquer the mobility of liquid

During our two projects i attempted to not only complete the assigned task but to control the way of the water. After the first project i found myself in "battle" with the water. Something as simple as water was making my piece so complex. After the second project attempt i felt that the art came from man attempting to conquer the ways of nature. I was simple trying to control the flow of the water through the PCP tubes but could not. What i got out of this entire project was that i enjoyed watching "Man" battle the machine, gravity, and water as we all were doing these projects, it was like an art exhibit. Which i found to be very interesting and this project left a mark on me itself.

And they call it Hip Hop

Im sitting down at the table conversing with a group of friends and the c topic of rap/hip-hop comes up (for the 80th time). Im a guy who listens to a wide verity of music and my favorite is "true hip-hop" with real lyricist, real MC's, real what i call artist. Because the music they create is original. Everything from the digital beats, to the rhythm of the flow. I began to appreciate artist such as
. All Natural ( a favorite)

. Marcelo D2

and many others. So a lot of so called hip-hop fans don't even know these people, but of course they know commercial rappers such as Hurricane Chris, Boosie, 50 cent, and that damn soldier boy. Mostly guys who rap about commercial topics leaving their originality, pain, and creativity behind because they give the crowd what they want to hear.

So i looked these perpetrators straight in the face and said thats not art, and you don't know hip-hop. These guys do what's "hot" what is popular at the time. For example an artist T-Pain uses an effect that goes back to the early 80's, allowing him to alter his voice into a futuristic tone. Okay cool, it was awesome when he did it, we loved it. So around twenty well known musicians decide to use the same effect, one even making his entire album with the effect. Okay, i look at art as something very unique, very original. Ones perspective of something, and his art is how he/she expresses their perspective. If you take something and create it because thats what you think people want to see or hear, your taking away from that perspective freedom. And i was getting so aggravated that day i decided to start a true Hip-Hop "revolution". I began to play my music projected out of extremely loud speakers at a loud volume so that everyone who enters my hall could here my tunes. I open my window as well letting the outside world hear what Hip-Hop is. And what i get out of this is people now come knock on my door and ask, "hey bro who is that man, can u load these artist on my i-pod/computer? "KNOW DOUT" i reply. This way i will slowly but sherly assist lost or those confused in realizing what hip-hop truly is.

Thank You.
